In Class: Jonathan Swift's "A MODEST PROPOSAL" (full text!)

June 15th Class: Poetry
Sometimes it's best to hear a poem read aloud so that you can let it "wash over" you; check out Vincent Price (the scary guy in Michael Jackson's "Thriller") reading Carl Sandberg's "Chicago".

June 18th Class: Vietnam War & "The Things They Carried"
When looking at this image after reading "The Things They Carried," it is hard not to think about those who died in the Vietnam War. Check out the Vietnam Memorial Wall's website to learn more about how America remembers its veterans and casualties of war. Have you ever been to the memorial? What do you remember about your visit there?

June 29th Class: On Tidy Endings
While we only read a portion of On Tidy Endings, it may help to see the entirety of the play performed, especially if you're more into auditory learning:)
